VILLA BEAUREGARD

Geneva Switzerland

renovation & interior design

Villa Beauregard, when it came up for sale, was a beautiful building in a perfect location, but which seriously needed renewal. Bibi immediately saw the potential of turning it into the perfect home for a large family.  The style of the interior was not at all compatible with Bibi’s vision for such a magnificent property. Furthermore, as it had been neglected for many years absolutely everything had to be renovated.

The walls and ceilings were torn down and floors replaced and new spaces created to offer exceptional volumes. The dining room was changed to be incorporated into the extraordinarily large kitchen of over 200 sq meters, which became the heart of the house. The cooking area was designed as a professional cooking space, using all the appropriate amenities and special features of a restaurant or hotel kitchen. An impressive glass fireplace served as a visual separation between the cooking and dining area.

Sometimes 30 meals or more were served daily in this lively hub filled with many children, dogs and happy guests.

An exquisite antique “Versailles” wooden floor was laid out throughout the house. Antique Belgian blue stone was used for the entrance, the kitchen and spa pool area. Each room was created with its dressing and bathroom en-suite and some of them even had a personal fireplace. The large and welcoming living rooms and library, opening onto the terraces and landscaped gardens offered wonderful lounging spaces to relax and read.

This mansion allowed Bibi to create separate floors for her children, keeping the top floor as a ‘Boys only’ zone, the next floor for her daughter and guests, including a private master apartment. In this latter, the two large unused terraces were covered in glass to create extraordinary light-filled office and library spaces.

The lowest floor was dedicated to a luxurious pool and spa area including a state of the art bathhouse and another kitchen and relaxing lounge area with a magnificent outdoor view throughout the 4 seasons.

Bibi’s magnificent contemporary art collection was placed in every room throughout the house.

The contrast  between the amazing Art Collection and the 18th century antiques gave this home a very special atmosphere.
