CHALET VERBIER

Verbier Switzerland

building & design

Here in Verbier, Bibi was commissioned to build a new chalet. The challenge was starting from scratch, on a very steep plot of land in this Swiss mountain village. Going ahead with her usual courage and style, collaborating with a local architect and her wonderful team from Austria, she built this chalet in the typical style of Verbier using reclaimed wood, old stone from a monastery for the floors and made to measure ironwork. All the doors were unique pieces from her personal collection of antique doors sourced from old farms, castles and churches in Austria. The stone used for the bathrooms was thought to match the colours of the en-suite bedrooms. The beautiful fireplace was sourced in France, as well as many of the various objects that gave this place its very special charm.
