GRITTIHOF
Gstaad Switzerland
Building, renovation & interior design
The Grittihof was an abandoned Bernese farmhouse from the 17th century discovered in a dreadfully dilapidated state by Bibi whilst touring the Swiss Alpen countryside on her bicycle looking for a new home. She immediately recognised the potential of this ruin. After acquiring the property and land surrounding it, she started the complete renovation of the farmhouse keeping all the precious old wood and other charming remnants of the past. Together with a local architect and her wonderful team of Austrian carpenters and craftsmen, Bibi created a new home for her family with her four children and eleven dogs at the time.
The interior was decorated with antique family furniture from Austria combined with contemporary furniture, giving the place an extraordinarily elegant, unique yet cosy ambience.
